Water: a renewable resource?

Everybody needs water.

Some countries use more than the nature provides (yes, there are fossil water tables). The map made by AQUEDUCT below shows the 'ratio of total annual water withdrawals to total available annual renewable supply' and some countries like Belgium come out red as a big surprise.

Note that the map only shows the stress countries put on their water supplies. Lots of other challenges are caused by the global warming (e.g.) the melting glaciers in the Himalayas causing totally different challenges for countries such as India .
